Dear Friend,
I'm currently writing this to you from a "birthing suite" in a hospital. Across from me lays my beautiful wife——aka, the earth angel. She's napping. Next to her, in the bassinet, lays firstborn child, Mr. Fitzgerald Scott Scheper. "Fitzy" (his name on the books he writes will be: F. Scott Scheper).
Here is a photo of him!
It has been a wild 24 hours. My wife went into labor at midnight yesterday and gave birth to Fitzy at 11:14 a.m. I was standing beside my wife while she pushed for a little over three hours. When he finally came out, I couldn't control myself.
I Started Bawling Uncontrollably, Tears of Joy and Pain and Love
It's almost as if all of your previous experiences and hardships——your ups and downs in life——all become worth it. It is an incredible feeling to see and hold your child in your hands.
I'll be honest, when I saw him at first, he almost looked foreign. I watched in disbelief, not able to comprehend that this was my son. In a matter of seconds, after he was placed on my wife's chest——skin to skin——I stared into his eyes——as he gasped for survival, drinking in life for the first time. A new energy came upon me inside of me.
It made me realize even more that I am called to help my tribe——people like you——and give you the best tools, methodologies and practices for becoming a prolific reader, writer, thinker, and——most importantly——to help you get the most out of this amazing gift called life we've all been given.
I also wanted to share a thought with you. You see, about five years ago I got Richard Dawkins "pilled." That is, I would spend many evenings watching Richard Dawkins——the biologist and renowned atheist——dismantle religious figures. I would watch videos of this on YouTube. It was fun, I'll admit. Too many religous figures haven't thought deeply about why they believe what they believe.
I then read all of the new atheist authors you can name. I read Sam Harris. I read Yuval Noah Harari——and while I would probably never have identified as an atheist——you could easily have said I was an agnostic.
During this period, I spent a lot of time meditating, and when you spend time meditating——at least within the realm of Buddhism——and you ask yourself the meaning of life, the answer is twofold...
It All Revolves Around Survival and Reproduction.
Now, from a materialistic point of view, survival and reproduction can be interpreted physically. That is your physical survival and your physical reproduction. Physical reproduction is essentially the birth of your own child. However, if we look at the point of life as being only to survive and create a child——that does not encapsulate the purity and beauty of life.
Furthermore, a lot of people——which also include my best friend named Evan——do not intend to reproduce or have a child. So therefore, if the answer to the purpose of life is survival and reproduction and they decide not to reproduce or have a child, is that saying that they do not have a full purpose of life?
That is one problem I have with this definition for the purpose of life being survival and reproduction. As I have studied more from many thinkers——whether that be the neo-atheist thinkers or Buddhism or Tibetan Buddhism or Catholicism or Protestantism or ancient Greek philosophy——I have found that the purpose of life revolving around just survival and reproduction to be quite lacking.
You see, survival and reproduction only pertains to physical survival and reproduction. However, I think that there is an additional layer to this——and that is the layer above the physical realm. Literally the word "above" in Greek means "meta." Meta means above. Therefore to do something above the physical realm means metaphysical.
The metaphysical term is a little bit tricky today because there are many different connotations in meanings. In fact, several "new age" groups have hijacked the term metaphysical to mean whatever outlandish thing that they want to believe! I do not hold this definition for metaphysical. For metaphysical, I mean things that are beyond the physical realm like the original Greek meaning of the term metaphysical.
Here's what I'm getting at with all of this...
I think that the purpose of life is survival and reproduction, but that it does not pertain to only physical survival and physical reproduction. It also includes metaphysical survival and metaphysical reproduction.
This brings us to the question...
How Do You Ensure That You Survive Metaphysically and Reproduce Yourself Metaphysically Beyond Your Life on Earth?
The answer to that is actually quite simple. The best mechanism for presserving and reproducing your ideas is...
Books!
That's right. Books.
Books stand as the best containers of spreading and reproducing your ideas well beyond your life on this planet. We read books from authors from hundreds of years ago to thousands of years ago, to even 10,000 years ago and beyond. All of this is encapsulated in the knowledge product known as a book.
It is my belief that you are put here on this planet for a reason. You yourself reading this right now——you are reading this for a reason. I believe that in your mind is a piece of knowledge. Even if it is the most small, seemingly trivial piece of knowledge, you are called to encapsulate that piece of knowledge and help others with it.
Think about the version of yourself 10 years ago. What if you could write a book or a guide for that person? I'm sure you can. I'm sure there are many things you have learned in your previous 10 years on this planet. You are called to encapsulate your knowledge and have it survive and reproduce itself for hundreds if not thousands of years beyond your life on this planet.
That is what I have done with my book, Antinet Zettelkasten. I went deeper than most people have ever gone within the world of Zettelkasten. I reverse engineered the actual principles that Niklas Luhmann, the originator of Zettelkasten adhered to. I then wrote that and encapsulated that into a book. That book is now selling many thousands of copies per month, and it is surviving and reproducing itself like crazy.
It may sound crazy, but even in writing about a teeny tiny niche of Zettelkasten, you can make well over six figures a month. It all revolves around a crafty business model that centers around going old school and going back into the world of analog publishing. In doing this, I've been able to go from $0 a month to over $400,000 a month in revenue.
I am now on a mission to create an army of independent writers, creators, thinkers who experience this type of results. If you would like to spend your days reading, writing, thinking, taking notes by hand——using your Antinet Zettelkasten——then I would implore you to watch a detailed video I made. It is for my writing incubator Write to Freedom.
With Write to Freedom, I will personally work with you to create the book of your dreams, launch it, and monetize it with the same business model I use.
I will work with you until you are making $1,000 a month in additional revenue guaranteed. And I will not stop working with you until we get there. After I get you there, I will then give you the entire playbook for scaling to $20,000 per month and beyond.
Which leads me to what I would like to teach you. If you haven't done so already, I highly recommend you watch this detailed 44-minute video I made on Write to Freedom.
