Preamble

On this page you will find an Antinet classification scheme created by an underground legend named Vanbillemont Kenny.

Legend has it, Vanbillemont does not sleep. He waits.

Vanbillemont doesn't read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.

When not sharpening his mind using the Antinet, Vanbillemont can be found taking on insane tasks.

One such insane task is that of assigning a numeric-alpha address to every single disciplinary field.

As you may know, when I teach the Antinet Zettelkasten, I use Wikipedia's Outline of Academic Disciplines.[1] I find this classification scheme to be all-encompassing. I also find it useful for creating top-level categories.

Important Note: these top-level categories are rough and fuzzy starting points only! They can and should evolve in their own direction. Do not become obsessed with classification. Focus on developing knowledge, not on developing conventions.

Even though I preach, over and over again, that one should not become too obsessed with classification schemes, it still paralyzes people. They find themselves struggling to even begin creating an Antinet. Choosing arbitrary Antinet addresses stands as a difficult task—especially in the beginning (when you have no idea what you're doing)!

For this reason, Vanbillemont stepped in. He privately messaged one day in our Antinet Reddit Community.[2] He volunteered his services in creating an all-encompassing classification scheme for the Antinet. It's based on Wikipedia's Outline of Academic Disciplines.

I have given it the name, The Vanbillemont Antinet Classification Scheme.

I present to you this classification scheme below.

I have not done a full audit and I imagine there may be imperfections; however it's a start and, as the legend Vanbillemont would say...

"Nothing is perfect, because it becomes boring."
- Vanbillemont Kenny

I hope this helps you in your Antinet journey.

If it does, show Vanbillemont (u/Kenwaldek) some love in the Antinet Reddit Community: https://www.reddit.com/r/antinet/.

Peace and love.

And as always,

Stay crispy, my friend.

- Scott
